The short version: your data is yours. We use it to power your AI advisor and nothing else. No human at Preficio reads your conversations.
What We Collect
- Account info — Name and email via Clerk authentication.
- Business info — What you share during onboarding: business name, industry, revenue range, team size, and your biggest challenge.
- Website data — If you provide a URL during signup, we scan your website or Amazon listing to give your AI advisor context about your business. This is a one-time scan of publicly available information.
- Conversations — Your chat messages and AI responses are stored so you can continue conversations across sessions.
- Usage signals — Aggregated, anonymous data about how the product is used (e.g., which features are popular, where users get stuck). This helps us improve the product.
How Your Data Is Used
- Your business data and conversations power your personal AI advisor. That's it.
- Your data is scoped to your account. No other user can see it. Your information is never used to advise other customers.
- We collect aggregated product signals (e.g., "users frequently ask about X feature") to improve the product. These signals contain no personally identifiable information or conversation content.
Who Can See Your Data
No human at Preficio reads your individual conversations or business data.
Our admin tools show only aggregated metrics — usage patterns, feature popularity, and anonymous product signals. We do not have tools to browse individual user conversations, and we have committed to not building them.
The only exception: if you contact support and explicitly share conversation details with us, we may view what you share to help resolve your issue.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted services to run Preficio:
- Anthropic (AI) — Your messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's commercial API has a zero data retention policy — they do not store your messages and do not use them for training.
- Clerk (authentication) — Handles login, sessions, and account security.
- Neon (database) — Stores your data with encryption at rest. SOC 2 Type II certified.
- Stripe (payments) — Processes subscription payments. We never see or store your card number.
- Vercel (hosting) — Hosts the application with HTTPS encryption in transit.
We do not sell, share, or provide your data to any other third party.
Data Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (database-level encryption).
- Authentication is handled by Clerk with industry-standard session management and token rotation.
- Every database query is scoped to your user ID — there is no way for one user's request to access another user's data.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible for 30 days in case you resubscribe. After 30 days, it is permanently deleted.
You can request immediate deletion of all your data at any time by emailing us. We will confirm deletion within 48 hours.
